How it Works…
Breastfeeding is natural, but it’s not always easy.
Lactation support services are a covered benefit with Health First Colorado or Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) with no out-of-pocket cost and no limit to the number of sessions.
Connect with a lactation support provider virtually and comfortably through our HIPPA compliant telehealth platform. All services are delivered by an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) offering education, counseling, and assistance for common breastfeeding issues, along with skilled evidenced-based care for more complex lactation issues.

How to Receive Insurance Covered Lactation Support

Our simple Insurance Verification Form requires your contact information and Colorado Medicaid Member ID. Once submitted, you will be prompted to schedule your Lactation Support Appointment.
*Please note, your insurance verification is REQUIRED prior to your first appointment. Allow 1 to 2 business days for Maternal to reach out confirming approval.*

Colorado Medicaid requires a referral from our healthcare provider (physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or midwife) for lactation services. Talk with your provider to request a referral for lactation services.
